Alright, first things first! This first paragraph will be about the book i finished (450+ pages) in about 5 days *woooooooo* And the second-third will be about poetry. So, the book i just finished is called Incarceron by Catherine Fisher. She isn't a "noticed" writer, but she has some pieces, anyway this book is her newest addition, and to be honest, it's pretty good, and well written. I would really recommend this to anyone my age, ans it is of high interest. I don't want to reveal too much, because you have to read it. It is set in a very distant future, with the world turned into a distopia where there is "protocol" and the world is set in mid evil time, but people still use futuristic devices. Anyway, there is this prison called Incarceron, and it is supposedly alive, and there is only one man who had ever escaped. It is a bit heavy with the "edge-of-your-seat" thing, and there's plenty of action, and some nice plot twists, but don't take my word for it, you can read it for yourself. (But be sure to read the beginning really slowly, because it's a bit over-whelming)
On to poetry now. First thing; "what is it?" well that's complicated, it is many things, but here's my definition; "A form of short-based writing to express feelings/emotions in a very artistic sense for many to perceive in there own way" now there are many types of poetry, and lots of poetry terms. I personally am not the "biggest" fan of poetry, but i don't hate it. And yeah, i enjoy it most of the time, and to be honest, i suck at rhymes, so that's my downfall, but im pretty good at haiku's. But yeah, poetry is a pretty good thing!
